LEVEL: advanced beginner

DATES: Saturdays, September 6 and 13, 11:00am – 1:30pm (2 classes, 5 hours)

Learn to knit these elegant, unique, Helix gloves with the designer herself, Kira K. In this fabulous design, the eyelet swirl wraps around both the wrist and  palm and then... very cleverly, the swirl design finishes on the index finger. The gloves can be worn on either hand but for maximum impact wear them so that they spiral in different directions. Wow. You will love gazing at your hands in these gloves.

SCARF AND SCARF PARTY!
(scarf = to eat AND scarf = around your neck!)

INSTRUCTOR: Kate Freeman
LEVEL: advanced beginner

DATE: Friday, September 12, 7:00pm – 9:30pm (one class, 2.5 hours)

Join us for the first of many knit-one-one Scarf and Scarf Parties. At each party we will eat, drink, make merry and – for the scarf knitting – we will introduce at least one new technique at every event.

To kick off our first Scarf & Scarf Party, we will work on the phenomenally popular Striped Noro Scarf by Brooklyn Tweed. This fabulous scarf was first seen at knit-one-one on Wondermike of YKnit podcast fame. With 1,350 examples on Ravelry, the scarf is clearly the “it” scarf of the season. Kate will be your guide as you learn to knit with 2 colors, carry the yarn, and slip your stitches while creating a stunning scarf.

READING JAPANESE PATTERNS WITHOUT FEAR: A Skills Workshop

INSTRUCTOR: Emily Jan
LEVEL: advanced beginner

NEW DATE: Tuesday, September 23, 6:00pm – 9:00pm (one class, 3 hours)

The Japanese pattern style is vastly different from what we are used to. For the uninitiated, they use a chart and numbers – no words! The genius lies in being able to chart increases and descreases visually and systematically – no more endless, confusing, acronym-laden instructions. In this class, you will learn how to read Japanese patterns, how to make your own work chart from an existing pattern, and if you have a Habu kit in your closet(!), Emily will help you get started with confidence.

FEE: $35.00
