The Community Blanket Knitting Party
The guest(s) of honor chooses the colors for the blanket and we supply the yarn in the chosen palette. For the beginning knitters in your group, we cast-on the stitches in advance, and at the party we teach them how to knit. And here is the amazing thing – the beginners actually knit a square! The more experienced knitters make at least one square – usually they produce two.

While the knitting is going on, the knit-one-one team is hovering, ready to jump in and help whenever needed. And of course no party would be complete without refreshments! At the end of the evening, we gather up the squares, block them, put them together and then deliver the finished keepsake to the happy recipient(s).

The community knitting party works well with a mixed group of knitters and non-knitters. It is particularly appropriate for wedding/baby showers as well as annniversary, graduation and birthday parties. In fact for all parties!

Magical Mystery Knitting Party
We tell the guests in advance what supplies to bring e.g. what yarn and what size needles. But that is all they are told. The guests arrive and the fun begins. The group is told to cast on a certain number of stitches and the teacher gives the group each subsequent instruction as needed. All the guests are literally in stitches as they try to figure out what it is that they are knitting.

By the end of the evening, the mystery is revealed and each guest walks away with both the pattern and their creation, which serves as a keepsake of the celebration.

Of course refreshments are served while all the knitting, laughing and guessing is going on. In addition, the group is waited on hand and foot by the knit-one-one team. (A variation on this theme is that the guest(s) of honor is presented with each person’s knitted item.)
