Jam Making
Dates: Saturday, November 7, 1:00 to 4:00pm (one class, 3 hours)
Instructor: Jen Hewett , whose cards, cooking, blog, and design know-how, are delighting those in the know.
Always wanted to learn how to make jams and preserves but thought it might be too difficult… or intimidating? Jen will show you just how easy and fun it can be. In class you will prepare two different kinds of jam from in-season fruits, fresh from the farmers market–so what jams you make depends on the seasonal fruit–as it should! Jen will walk you through the process of sterilizing jars (easier than you probably think), cooking the fruit, and canning the jams, Afterwards you will enjoy some homemade scones, tea, and - of course - your jam.
Fee: $38 Materials fee of $10.00 payable in class. You get at least two jars of jam to take home, recipes for all jams, and scones to munch in class!
