Wheel Spinning: Learn how

Experience the alchemy of spinning. Learn in the bright, spacious, knit-one-studio. We cover all the basics: how to spin on a wheel, do maintenance, what to look for in a wheel. You learn new vocabulary too. Drafting. Back draw. Over the fold. Plying and much more.

The Well Knit Baby

Dates: Saturdays, March 13, 20, 27, 11:00 to 1:00 (3 classes, 6 hours)

Instructor: Kate Freeman

Choose from 3 baby projects or if you have fleet fingers, you can do all 3. The sweater is knit in the round from the bottom up and joined at the yoke. The bunny hat is a fast knit but the ears are tricky. And the booties. The construction is ingenious. 3 garter stitch squares folded into cuteness. Perfect for all levels.

Sewing Sensation(ally)

Dates: Saturday March 13 and 20, 2:00pm to 5:00 pm

You have learned  the sewing basics. But you need more. Bring your skills to the next level while working on the sensational  Birdie Sling (pic on the left) You will learn how to pleat, make pockets, add lining, interface, and much more. Project Runway here we come!

Socks: The Basics

Dates: Sundays, March 14, 21, 28, 1:30 to 3:30 (3 classes, 6 hours)

Instructor: Jesse Loesberg

Warm, cozy, custom, socks. What luxury. Learn all the basics: how to turn the heel, shape the toes and more. In addition, unravel the mysteries of the magic loop method–a terrific alternative to double pointed needles. Warning: Once you learn the magic loop, there is no going back!

Knit And Crochet Edgings

Dates: Sunday March 28, 10 to 1:00 (one class, 3 hours)

Instructor: Kira Dulaney

A knit or crochet edge makes everything look better. And I mean everything. A blanket. A sweater. Gloves. You get the idea. Kira will teach all the many ways in which you can embellish your handiwork with fab edgings. A terrific class for knitters and crocheters of ALL levels.

Sewing Survival Skills

Dates: Sunday March 28, 1:30 to 3:30 pm (one class, 2 hours)

Instructor: Kira Dulaney

The name says it all! Learn how to sew on a button, hem a pair of  pants, fix a tear, darn a hole and much much more.

Fee: $26.

Runway Stitches Session A (for ages 10 & up)

Dates: Mon to Fri. March 29-April 2, 10:00 to 1:00 (15 hours)

Instructor: Kira Dulaney

If you already sew, you will work on a hat. You will learn how to pleat, make a band, add lining, how to interface and much more. New to sewing? You will work on the stylish Smart Handbag. You will learn how to cut out fabric, follow a pattern, sew on a machine and much  more. If time permits, you will make a business card holder, coffee sleeve, or cuff.

Session B is the week of April 5. Everything else is similar to Session A
